Why Dilamphis CARE?
At Dilamphis Care, we’re dedicated to supporting individuals and families facing mental health challenges. To ensure the best care possible, we provide rigorous refresher training in Mental Health & Addiction, Harm Reduction, and Behavioural Management to all of our staff.
Through our Responsive Behaviour training, our staff learn how to recognize and respond to triggers that may affect an individual’s overall well-being.
Behaviour management: This training focuses on helping individuals who exhibit certain behaviours that may be associated with cognitive or neurological impairments due to mental health challenges, addiction, or dementia. Our goal is to reduce the occurrence of these behaviours and improve the individual’s quality of life.
Our training program aims to equip staff with the knowledge and skills to understand responsive behaviour, common types of responsive behaviours, triggers of responsive behaviours, the different levels of escalation, and how to effectively manage these behaviours.
Responsive behaviour refers to actions or behaviours that an individual exhibits in response to certain stimuli or situations.
Common examples of responsive behaviours include agitation, aggression, wandering, and social withdrawal.
Triggers of responsive behaviours are factors that can cause or exacerbate these behaviours. These triggers can be external factors such as environmental factors, or internal factors such as pain, discomfort, or frustration.
The different levels of escalation refer to the different stages that a responsive behaviour can go through, from mild to severe. Understanding these levels can help staff to intervene appropriately and prevent a behavior from escalating.
Managing responsive behaviours involves using different techniques and strategies to prevent or minimize the occurrence of these behaviours. These strategies can include environmental modifications, communication techniques, and medication management. The goal is to ensure the safety and well-being of the individual and those around them.
